Tucson, Ariz. - Arizona Softball is picked to finish first in the Pacific-10 Conference by the league's coaches, announced Tuesday. Arizona shares the preseason honors with UCLA.

Arizona received 46 points including 4 first place votes.

The Wildcats ended last season 59-9 overall and 16-4 in the Pac-10. They finished second in the conference and tied for third in the College World Series.

The 2001 season begins with the Lead Off luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at noon, to be followed by media day at 3 p.m. at Hillenbrand Stadium.

Arizona will face the Alumni in the annual game on Saturday, Jan.27 at 3 p.m.
