Lufkin, Texas, product will attend Texas A&M

TUCSON, Ariz. ?- University of Arizona head men’s basketball coach Lute Olson announced Monday that Beau Muhlbach has decided to transfer to another school.

Muhlbach, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound sophomore guard from Lufkin, Texas, will enroll at Texas A&M University in College Station. He had opted to redshirt during the 2004-05 season. In eight appearances last season, Muhlbach averaged 0.9 points and 0.3 rebounds per game.

“It was simply a situation where Beau wanted to be a little closer to home and get a better opportunity to play,” said Olson. “We’ve enjoyed having him in the program for the last year and a half.”

Fifteenth-ranked Arizona (7-2) will next be in action on Tuesday, Dec. 21, as the Wildcats host Manhattan. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MST and can be seen live on FSN Arizona.
