Four Women's Tennis Players Advance at Pac-12s

OJAI, Calif. -

Four Arizona women’s tennis players defeated their respective opponents in the first round of the Pac-12 Championships in Ojai, Calif. on Thursday.

Senior Natasha Marks (Nottingham, England) defeated UCLA’s Pamela Montez to move on to the round of 16 in the Championship Singles bracket, while seniors Sarah Landsman (Syosset, N.Y.) and Debora Castany (Barcelona, Spain) and sophomore Susan Mc Rann (Dublin, Ireland) all earned wins in the Invitational Singles bracket.

Sophomores Lacey Smyth (Oceanside, Calif.) and Kim Stubbe (Mol, Belgium) fell in the Championship Singles bracket, while freshmen Laura Oldham (Sheffield, England) and Hailey Johnson (San Diego, Calif.) were stopped in the Invitational Singles bracket.

The Wildcats will continue with doubles and second-round singles on Friday, April 27. The first round doubles championship and invitational draws will begin at 8 a.m.
