TUCSON, Ariz. -
Arizona freshman Madi Kingdon (Phoenix, Ariz.) was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for Oct. 3-9, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.
Kingdon recorded double-digit kills in both matches last weekend versus No. 5 USC and No. 2 UCLA. She posted a team-high 16 kills in the Wildcats’ upset over the Bruins on Saturday and notched a team-leading fifth double-double for the season.
In addition, Kingdon has led Arizona in kills in 12 out of 14 matches, leads the team in kills and kills per set and is one of four players to have digs in the triple digits (121).
Kingdon is the second Arizona player to earn this honor, to freshman Chloe Mathis (La Jolla, Calif.), who won on Sept. 19.
