2005-06 Season: Two-time first team All-American... Is part of the NCAA 200 free relay championship team that set a new NCAA record (1:27.98)... Also anchored the second-place 800 free relay and finished 13th in the 50 free (22.88)... Was the 2006 UA Athletics Freshman of the Year... Anchored the first-place 200 medley relay and swam the third leg of the first-place 200 free relay at the 2006 Pac-10 Championships... Finished eighth in the 50 free (23.15), 10th in the 100 free (50.19) and 20th in the 200 free (1:49.77) at the meet... Against Arizona State, won the 200 free (1:51.81), finished second in the 50 free (23.55) and placed third in the 100 free (51.52)... Finished second in the 100 fly (55.68), fourth in the 100 free (51.51) and fourth in the 50 free (23.73) against Texas... Anchored the second place 200 free relay against California... Finished second in the 200 back (2:08.91) against Northern Arizona, Oregon State and Washington... At the 2005 Texas Invitational, swam the first left in both first-place 200 and 400 free relays while finishing 11th in the 50 free (23.25) and 18th 100 back (56.78)... Was fifth in the 200 free and the 200 back against USC.


National & International Competition: At Junior sectionals, finished first in the 50 free (23.2), and the 200 back (2:02.96)... Also finished second in the 100 back (57.7) and fourth in the 100 free (51.5)... Competed in the 50 free at Senior Nationals.


Prep: Four-year letterwinner for swimming and was her high school team captain in 2005... Was her team’s MVP Freshman in 2002 as well as the most valuable senior in 2005... Was part of the Colorado All-State Team and was the Northern Colorado Swimmer of the Year...  Has state high school records (5A), in the 50 (SC) free, the 100 free and the 400 free relay.


Personal: Born Anna Leigh Turner and Feb. 21, 1987 in Fort Collins, Colo. ... Daughter of Dan and Jan Turner... Dad graduated from the University of Colorado where he played basketball and football during the 1970s... Mother graduated from Denver University and is now a veterinarian... Major is Spanish/ physiology.
