November 5 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week
Arizona 27 ?- No. 25 Washington State 17

Cason keyed Arizona's defensive effort in the Wildcats' 27-17 upset road win at No. 25-ranked Washington State. He recorded six tackles, five solo, forced a fumble and broke up a career-high four passes. The Arizona defense limited WSU to 11 first downs, 45 yards rushing, just 2-of-13 on third-down conversion attempts, forced two fumbles and posted four quarterback sacks for minus-27 yards.

November 13 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week
Arizona 24 ?- No. 8 California 20

The reigning Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week and Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist, Cason backed up his much-deserved accolades from the previous week to lead Arizona to a 24-20 upset win over No. 8-ranked Cal on Homecoming Weekend in Tucson. Cason helped keep the Pac-10’s top-rated Golden Bear passing offense in check, broke a 17-17 tie with the go-ahead touchdown on a 39-yard interception return early in the fourth quarter and finished with four tackles on the day. The pick was the third of the season for Cason, the 10th in his three-year career at UA and his first for six points. The Arizona defense held Cal to 80 fewer yards then its season average, limited it to 14 first downs and just 3-of-13 on third-down conversion attempts, all while inducing Nate Longshore, the Pac-10 passing efficiency leader, into three interceptions in the game.
