Arizona Picked To Finish Second By Pac-10 Media

LOS ANGELES --The Arizona Wildcats are predicted to finish second in the conference during the 2010-11 season according to a poll of media members who regularly cover Pac-10 men's basketball.

The Washington Huskies are picked to finish first in the 2010-11 Pacific-10 Conference Men's basketball race, followed by UA which returns four starters, including Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Derrick Williams (15.7 ppg/7.1 rpg). Arizona also garnered one first-place votes while UW collected all but one other first-place nod.

Williams and UA head coach Sean Miller are currently in Los Angeles attending Pac-10 Media Day with reps from the other nine conference teams.

UCLA is slotted third while ASU is picked fourth, followed by Washington State and USC. Defending Pac-10 champion California is tabbed for seventh. Rounding out the preseason poll is Oregon State in eighth, Stanford in ninth, followed by Oregon.

The 2010-11 season gets under way for the Pac-10 on Friday, Nov. 12 when Oregon hosts North Dakota State, and UCLA takes on Cal State Northridge.
