WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – University of Arizona volleyball captain Paige Weber was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic First Team today in the league’s annual academic honors.

The award is Weber’s third consecutive year being named to the Conference’s first team. She carries a 3.88 grade point average as an accounting major. Earlier this month, Weber was named to CoSIDA’s Second Team All-District for Volleyball.
This season Weber has totaled 1,126 assists, 66 kills, 23 aces and 174 digs. Starting all 27 matches played, Weber ranks third on the UA all-time matches started list with 118. She can tie overall leader Bre Ladd, should she start Arizona’s final four matches and a possible NCAA Tournament game.
Weber has also achieved 1,000 assists in all four seasons at Arizona while ranking second on the all-time chart behind only Dana Burkholder.
This week, Arizona hosts Washington State and No. 11 Washington in its final homestand of 2010. Both matches start at 7 p.m. MST.
