TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona volleyball team evened its overall record at 13-13 with a 3-0 win over Oregon at MacArthur Court in Eugene, Ore., on Thursday. Game scores of the match were 30-22, 30-20, 30-26.
Arizona (7-8 Pac-10) out-hit Oregon (3-21, 0-15 Pac-10) .337 to .157, out dug them 38 to 26 and posted 12 total team blocks to UO's five in the season series sweeping win.
Individually, sophomore Jennifer Abernathy carried the offensive load for the Wildcats finishing with a match-high 18 kills on .355 hitting. Abernathy's outing helped offset a down night by classmate Kim Glass, who tallied a season-low seven kills.
Despite posting her first match of the season in single figure kills, Glass still contributed in the victory with a match-high four service aces and 11 digs.
Junior Jolene Killough, who has averaged two blocks per game over Arizona's last six matches, finished with a career-high four solo blocks to go along with two block assists on Thursday. Fellow middle blocker Bre Ladd added eight kills and five block assists, while freshman setter Stephanie Butkus dished out 41 of UA's 46 assists.
The Wildcats will look to even their record in Pac-10 play in their final conference road match of the season on Friday against Oregon State in Corvallis. First serve is set for 8 pm MST.
