Cats finish play in California with good results

In the final day of play at the Cal Nike Invitational the Cats showed their skills.

In doubles play Sarah Landsman and Debora Castany won 8-6 against the Minnesota team of Magdelena Wiecha and Netallia Pintusaua. In the gold division Natasha Marks and Susan McRann lost to the California team of Taylor Davis and Annie Goransson 8-6.

In gold division singles play Natasha won the gold consolation draw by default. Megan Price of BYU and Jenifer Widjaja from PAC both withdrew from the competition. In a round robin game Natasha beat Aria Jeczmionka of Long Beach State 2-6, 6-3, 12-10. Sarah beat Anais Dallara of Long Beach State 6-5, 5-7, 10-7. Debora lost in the blue division to Laura Pola from Fresno State 6-4 6-0. Susan lost 6-3, 6-0 to Marianne Jodoin from Fresno State.

At the end of the day the Wildcats were able to return to Tucson knowing that they had played their hardest and worked to improve their skills. The Cats head to Colorado Springs for the Air Force Invitational on Oct. 1.
