The University of Arizona and Sun Tran have come to a two-year agreement to provide the Football shuttles for Arizona fans. After several meetings, the University agreed to a two-year agreement with the goal of the shuttle service being a self-sufficient program. In order to assist in accomplishing this goal, the 2001 shuttle service price will be $6.00 per person and there will be three pick-up locations: Tucson Mall, High Corbett Field and Fry's (I-19 and Irvington). Senior Citizens and individuals with disability will receive a half fare discount ($3.00 per person round trip).

In May, the Athletics Department and Sun Tran mailed 8,000 shuttle surveys to football season ticket holders. Those surveys were tallied and 1,451 individuals responded (18%) to the survey. The University and Sun Tran were pleased by the overwhelming response from Arizona fans and we appreciate their input. Fifty one percent (51%) of the people who answered the question "what is the maximum round trip fare you would be willing to pay for the shuttle service?" said they would pay $6.00 round trip.

The UA will also provide the following for those not wanting to use the shuttle:

  • Parking spaces will be available in the Tyndall Parking Garage for $5.00 a car.
  • Free parking will be offered in the Tyndall garage for those who enter the Tyndall garage with four or more people in the vehicle.
  • Park Avenue Garage on Park and Speedway will be free of charge on game days.
  • Ten percent of the parking closest to Arizona Stadium is reserved for persons with disabilities.
