Women?s Golf JV Season comes to a Close at Mountain View Intercollegiate

The Arizona women’s junior varsity golf team finished in a tie for 14th place at the Mountain View Intercollegiate. 


Freshman Adriana Zwanck continued her strong play, carding a 72 (E) for the second straight round.  After claiming the top spot on the leader board in rounds one and two, Zwanck was able to hold off the competition and claim the tournament’s individual championship.

Junior Rachel Gavin shaved six strokes off her round two score, shooting a 76 (+4) and finishing in a tie for 56th place.


Rounding out the Wildcats squad was a trio of freshmen.  Brooke Schneider, Brittany Pepler and Marisa Smith all finished the tournament within one stroke of one another.  Schneider shot a 237 (+21) and finished in a tie for 64th place. 

Pepler carded a 238 (+22) and completed the tournament in 66th place.  Rounding out the freshman trio was Smith, shooting a 239 (+23) and placing in 67th.


The Kansas Jayhawks carded a tournament low of 290 in round three, winning the tournament with a combined score of 884 (+20).  Nebraska and Northwestern finished in second and third places, respectively. 


Kansas State shot a tournament score of 860 (+26) and earned a fourth place finish followed by the Missouri Tigers who carded an 891 (+27) and finished in fifth.


The Mountain View Intercollegiate marks the completion of the Arizona women’s golf junior varsity season.  The Wildcats varsity team will next take the course at the PING/ASU Invitational March 31- April 02, 2006 in Tempe, Ariz.
