Cats one of six ranked teams in the 12-team field

 

TUCSON, Ariz. ?- The University of Arizona men’s golf team will compete in the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, Oct. 9-10, in Birmingham, Ala.

 

Now in its 20th year, the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate is a 12-team event hosted by the University of Alabama.  It is scheduled for Oct. 9-10 at Old Overton Club, a par-71, 6,936-yard layout.  Tee times are to be announced.  Thirty-six holes scheduled for Monday and 18 on Tuesday.

 

In addition to Arizona, the field is comprised of Alabama, UAB, Auburn, Brigham Young, East Tennessee State, Georgia State, Louisiana State, Purdue, Texas, Texas Tech and Tulsa.  Arizona is one of six ranked teams according to the current Golf Coaches Association of America/Bridgestone Coaches Poll.

 

The following players are scheduled to compete for Arizona:  Trey Denton, Travis Esway, Ben Fox, Pedro Oriol and Nathan Tyler.
