What got you started playing tennis? I have always been active so I wanted to try every sport. Once my two older sisters began to play, I wanted to try and I got involved.
What brought you to UA? Arizona has a great tennis program with fantastic coaches and we compete in a tough conference. The business school here is really strong and the weather is incredible all year.
What were your thoughts during your first college match? It was nerve racking but brilliant. I love that coaches are allowed onto the court and it's really nice seeing the rest of the team are at the back of the court cheering and supporting you.
What is it like being a freshman on the UA team? It's great, I love it. The team is amazing and they have really helped me to settle in and feel at home here. It's nice having other international players who know what it's like in your situation and they are always more than willing to help out.
What is the biggest difference between home in Ireland and the US? I think the beginning of this semester was a bit of a struggle for me with the weather. Playing in 100 degrees was something I have never experienced before and getting used to that kind of heat was really tough. In Ireland, we rarely get summer like Arizona's winter and even though it gets pretty hot, I appreciate the good weather.
