TUCSON -- Alicia Banks hit a fourth-inning grand slam for her first hit of the fall, helping Arizona run away with a 15-1 victory over Pima Community College on a cold and blustery night at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The sophomore's homer was the second of the grand slam variety on the evening for UA and gave the Cats a 12-0 lead.
Fellow sophomore Lini Koria hit a ball off the wall beyond centerfield in the third inning to add four more to Arizona's 3-0 lead at the time. Freshman Baillie Kirker followed up Koria's blast with a solo shot of her own to bring the score to 8-0.
Kenzie Fowler pitched four innings of no-hit ball, striking out eight in the process. The freshman helped her own cause on the offensive side, hitting a two-run home run in the second.
No Wildcat had more than one hit in the game, but eight different Cats tallied in that column.
Up Next: Arizona will hold team practice into early November before resuming official practice in January. The team opens play at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. on Feb. 12.
