The Arizona women's tennis team will open their fall schedule this Friday at the Miner Invitational in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Tarleton State, New Mexico State, Our Lady of the Lake, UTEP and defending National Junior College Athletic Association champion, Lee College, will be competing in the tournament, which is comprised of three singles and two doubles flights.
Last year, Masschelein went 21-14 in singles overall and 12-9 in dual match play. Castany was 15-12 overall, and 8-8 in dual match play for singles.
"We are excited to get some competition underway." Said head coach Vicky Maes, "We only had a few weeks to prepare, but practice has gone well and I feel we are ready to go and put our games into play. We enjoyed this tourney last year as it gave us an opportunity to see the things we needed to work on and we also get to work on our doubles."
Up next for the Wildcats, are the Cal Invitational in Berkeley, California September 25-27, and the New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, also September 25-27.
