TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona women’s basketball head coach Joan Bonvicini today announced the signing of the Wildcats’ first-ever African player, Amina Njonkou of Foumban, Cameroon.

"We’re very excited to have Amina join our team," Bonvicini said. "She will make an impact right away. She is a powerful presence, both offensively and defensively, and has the power to step out and hit a jumper. She can also handle the ball."

A member of the Cameroon Junior National Team, Njonkou is playing her senior season at West Memphis High School in West Memphis, Ark.
