PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Arizona women's golf team remained in 4th place for the third-straight day to conclude the 2009 Pac-10 Championships, Sunday afternoon at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Wildcats shot their lowest round of the weekend on Sunday, rounding out the tournament with a team total of 290 to end up 884 overall. Arizona finished three shots ahead of California while Arizona State captured the team title by finishing even par.
Senior Amanda Wilson capped her final Pac-10 Tournament round in style by shooting even par to match her lowest varsity round of the season. Wilson finished the tournament 14-over par in a tie for 31st position.
Freshman Nikki Koller matched her veteran teammate with a team-low round of the day at 71. Koller finished her first conference tournament at 6-over par, leading the Wildcats with a share of 12th place overall.
Sophomore Alejandra Llaneza finished one stroke behind Koller, shooting 72 on Sunday to finish tied for 16th place at +7. Isabelle Boineau was 5-over on Sunday and ended up at +10 in a tie for 20th position while Margarita Ramos rounded out the team by sharing 36th place with a 54-hole total of 231.
Carlota Ciganda of Arizona State won a three-way playoff to capture the individual title after sharing the 54-hole lead at 3-under.
Arizona will await its placement into one of three NCAA Regional sites on Monday, April 27 with the announcement coming just after 1 p.m. The regional tournaments are scheduled for May 8-10.
