Final Stats

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona men's swimming and diving team is in second place after the first day of the Pac-10 Championships. The Cats go into the second day behind only Stanford (251) with a point total of 191.5. The meet is being hald at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif.

Wildcat senior All-American Roland Schoeman won the 50y free this evening when he out-touched California's Anthony Ervin by seven one-hundredths of a second. Schoeman hit the wall at 19.36, while Ervin touched at 19.43.

Stanford leads the Pac-10 Men's Swimming and Diving Championshps with 251 points followed by Arizona (191.5) in second and Cal in third (187). Rounding oou the top-five teams are Southern California (179) and Arizona State (135.5).

The event will resume tomorrow with preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
