WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The University of Arizona placed five student-athletes on Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic Teams for men's and women's golf and tennis.
Golfers Cathy Williamson and Brandon Smith, and tennis player Carl Hagman earned first-team honors, while golfer Cristina Baena and tennis player Debby Larocque were named to the league's second-team scholastic squad.
Student-athletes must be in the second year at their institution, carry a minimum overall grade-point average of 3.0 and be a front-line player or significant contributor.
Williamson is a junior with a 3.56 GPA in chemistry, Smith is a senior with a 3.83 GPA in finance and Hagman is a sophomore carrying a 3.72 average in journalism. Baena is a senior with a 3.26 in marketing and Larocque finished her sophomore year with a 3.37 grade average in chemistry.
Sophomore tennis player Perrine Pernin earned honorable mention honors with a 3.074 in chemistry.
