TUCSON, Ariz. – With fall camp winding down for Arizona Volleyball and preparations beginning for the Shamrock Invitational and the start of the season, several key cogs are starting to come together for head coach Dave Rubio.
On Saturday, you can catch UA in action during its annual Red-Blue preseason scrimmage inside of McKale Center beginning at 3 p.m. This will also be the general public’s first chance to see the newly redesigned McKale floor.
This week, Arizona returned back from its trip to Prescott, Ariz. on Monday and has been conducting double-day practices since Tuesday.
In the recently released AVCA preseason poll, Arizona was slated No. 18 overall. With a solid group of veterans back for 2010 including four starters, it’s sure to be an exciting season.
The Wildcats’ home schedule this season is as tough as ever. Along with the traditional Pac-10 powers (the Conference has seven teams ranked in the top 25), Arizona will welcome Louisville, Pepperdine and Butler, among others, in non-conference action at McKale.
Volleyball’s Red-Blue 3 p.m. scrimmage also fits in conveniently with Football’s “Meet the Team” night at Arizona Stadium. Gates open for Meet the Team at 5 p.m.
