TUCSON, Ariz. -
Hey Wildcat fans!
This past weekend was amazing! We swept the No. 2 UCLA Bruins, our second victory over the Bruins this season. Most of our team is from Southern California, so it was a very special win. Not only did this boost confidence going into the final matches of the season, but it also put us in a great position to go to the NCAA tournament.
The win over UCLA marked Coach Rubio’s 500th win of his career! Much respect for an accomplishment like that.
Looking forward this week, we play our rivals ASU twice. First, we play on Tuesday in McKale Center, and then again on Saturday in Tempe! They have had their struggles this year, but we still need to come out and play hard for the victory. These matches mean a lot to us because in order for us to go to the NCAA tournament, we have to beat them.
We want to bring home the Territorial Cup and beat ASU on our Senior Night! I have six people from my family coming out to support me. Courtney Karst and Marketa Hanzlova have people flying in, too. It’s our last home match of our careers, so this game has a lot of value in it for us three seniors. We all want it to be memorable and we want to win!
It has been my pleasure to write to you during the season. I hope you have enjoyed the updates, and thanks to all of you for your support of Arizona Volleyball!
Come out to support us in our final home match of the season, Tuesday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. vs. in-state rival ASU!
