PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Freshman Logan Tom led all players with 16 kills and 11 digs as No. 7 Stanford swept 18th-ranked Arizona, 16-14, 15-4, 15-2, in Palo Alto, Calif., Friday night.
With the win, the five-time defending Pac-10 champions improved to 14-2, 8-1 in league play. The Cats fell to 11-5 and 5-3.
Senior Kerri Walsh added 11 kills and 10 digs for Stanford, which defeated Arizona for the 11th consecutive time. The win was the Cardinal's 51st in a row in home Pac-10 contests.
The Cats were led by freshman Lisa Rutledge, who hit .333 with nine kills. Junior Marisa DaLee, who had committed a total of just three errors in her last three matches, had eight against Stanford while collecting just seven kills.
Arizona wraps up the first half of conference action Saturday when it travels to Berkeley, Calif., to take on California at 7 p.m. PDT.
