Freshman Natasha Marks lost to USC's Amanda Fink, 7-5, 6-2, in the Pac-10 Championships final round.
"Natasha made a great run at Ojai." Said head coach Vicky Maes, "She played solid tennis and learned a lot about herself. Fink proved a little too strong today, but she was right in the match and gave herself opportunities. I feel this experience will be invaluable going into her sophomore year. Making the finals at the Pac-10 Championships is an amazing feat and we could not be more proud."
The freshman's impressive run to the finals started with an upset over Arizona State's Kelcy Mckenna, before she took down Washington's Samantha Smith in the second round. In the quarterfinals, Marks took down California Bojana Bobusic before taking down her teammate Marina Cossou.
