TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team holds a first-place spot after day one and two rounds of play at the UNLV Invitational. The two-day event is being held Mon.-Tues., Feb. 21 at the Cascata Golf Club in Las Vegas. Cascata is a par 72, 6,200-yard course with 500-600 feet in elevation changes.
No. 17 Arizona leads the team race with a two round score of 583 (+7). UNLV sits in second with a 586 (+10). No. 45 San Diego State rounds out the top three with a 602 (+26). Senior Nikki Koller leads the individual race with scores of 72 and 73 for a two-round total of 145 (+1).
Freshman Manon Gidali sits in a tie for fourth place with five others with scores of 71 and 76 for a total of 147 (+3). With scores of 74 and 73, senior Margarita Ramos jumped up from a first-round tie for eleventh place to tie for fourth along with Gidali.
Jumping from a tie for nineteenth to a tie for tenth, senior Isabelle Boineau finished the first two round with scores of 76 and 72 for a 148 (+4) total. Freshman Andrea Vilarasau finished the day with a total of 149 (+5).
