TUCSON, Ariz. -University of Arizona Wildcat women's soccer team fell 6-1 to No. 3 UCLA Friday night at Drake Stadium.
Arizona (1-12-2, 1-5-1 Pac-12) scored it's only goal of the night in the thirty-fifth minute of action, courtesy of sophomore forward Jazmin Ponce. Ponce hit a free kick from 30 yards out to put the Cats on the board. Along with her first-half goal, the Lawndale, Calif. native registered Arizona's only on-goal shot attempt of the second half.
Wildcat keeper Ashley Jett recorded five saves in the first half of action along with four goals against. Jett was relieved in the second period by sophomore goalie Lorena Aragon who, in her second appearance of the season, made a pair of saves along with two goals against.
For UCLA (11-1-3, 4-1-2), senior forward Sydney Leroux scored a trio of goals to put the Bruins up 4-1 going into the break.
Up next, Arizona will face USC on Sunday, October 23 at 11 a.m. in the team's final road match of the season.
