Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller

"We have a really great crowd. I've talked a lot about this since August, when school started, and we have to make sure we honor the crowed by playing hard, and beating the teams that are difficult to beat. It's hard enough to do that on the road, so to come out of this weekend with a pair of wins is great."

"There was a little bit of déjà vu from the UCLA game tonight. For our guys, when we're up double digits, we have to protect the ball, and play smarter defense. USC had a ten to nothing run in the last two and a half minutes, which also happened against UCLA. We talked about it after that game, but obviously we didn't correct that tonight. We have to finish strong, and we can't let this keep happening. It'll be even worse if we're up by five on the road, and our opponent goes on a run like this. We need to get better at protecting the lead at the end of the game."

"There were a number of guys who played exceptionally well tonight. I have to give Derrick Williams a lot of credit. He played hard despite his injury. Usually it takes a couple games to figure out a new rhythm, but it obviously didn't take him that long. Had he not been in foul trouble, he probably would have had an even bigger game than he did."

"Our point guards combined for twenty-five points, three assists, and only one turnover tonight, and that's really great for us. Momo Jones and Jordin Mayes really did a great job tonight. It's tough to expect a freshman to play point guard, but Jordin has been working hard in practice, and he's very coachable. His high school program really helped him bridge the gap, and now he is light-years ahead of how he was in November and December. Anyone can see that he is really hitting his stride right now. For Momo, I think this was his best weekend this season. He was aggressive and took care of the ball."

"When we head to the Bay Area, we're going to face a pair of schools that have a big low-post presence. Trapping the post is important for us, but if we do it too much, it opens up more opportunities from three. We have a good three-point defense, but it'll still cause us a lot of problems. It can certainly help us at times, but it can also really hurt us."

"We are light-years ahead of how we performed a year ago in every way. We were six and three after the first half of the conference schedule, but we were definitely not good enough in February. This year, we have the depth that helps us both in practice, and in games. If someone isn't having a good night, then we have a person on the bench that can step in. Kevin Parrom is one of those players. He made some big baskets at key times tonight, and he has that toughness off the bench that we need."

Arizona Player Quotes

Kyle Fogg

On Derrick Williams:
"We thought he was going to be a little bit slower because of his hand so the rest of us would have to step up. But luckily, Derrick was still Derrick. It didn't slow him down at all. It actually worked out in our favor because Derrick was playing well and the rest of us had that attacking mentality."

On MoMo Jones:
"Mo played great today. We talked about how both of us have to step up. He's been aggressive. He's always had confidence. His shots are falling and he's driving and kicking. He's doing a great job."

On the balanced effort:
"We need to do that to take pressure off Derrick. It's going to make us a very tough team to beat."

Alex Jacobson

On his minutes played:
"It feels like I just ran a marathon. I'm exhausted. I felt good after the Oregon trip. I felt almost 100 percent. I had three bulging disks."

On the crowd reaction:
"It's a good feeling. I love their reactions. The coaches told me that I might get in there. I was nervous not playing a lot."

Kevin Parrom
On the team's effort:
"Early in the season, coach told us there's not much of a difference between us and the starters. We have to just do our job and provide a spark. In practice, coach just tells me to go strong off the back screen and be aggressive going to the rim and that's what I'm trying to do in our games. Derrick isn't the only one there. There are four other players out there. We just have to go out there and be aggressive."

On moving forward:
"We just have to mature as the season goes. It's disappointing today we didn't close the game. We just can't let up. We have to be aggressive and just continue to play strong."
