COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 32-ranked University of Arizona men’s tennis team was plagued today with a virus forcing the team to default against the No. 40 Mississippi State Bulldogs at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in College Station, Texas.

“The team got slammed with a nasty virus,” head coach Tad Berkowitz said. “Most of the team was up all night. This has never happened in my coaching career. I feel terrible for the guys. There was no way in good conscious that myself or Tom could put these guys out on the court.”

The Wildcats will return home to prepare this week for Friday’s and Sunday’s matches. The team hosts Pacific on Friday at 1 p.m. and Northern Arizona on Sunday at 12 p.m. Both matches will be played at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
