TUCSON, Ariz. ?- With Oregon State’s 13-5 win over UCLA in Los Angeles on Saturday the Arizona baseball program has finished alone in second place in the Pac-10 standings.

The Wildcats, who wrapped up their regular season with a 14-5 win over Arizona State in Tempe on Friday, finished the year with a 40-15 overall record and a 15-9 mark in the Pac-10. The 2007 club became the first at UA to win 40 games in the regular season since the 1989 team went 42-16-1 prior to the postseason. UA’s conference record was the second-best for a Wildcat team since the Pac-10 North and South combined in 1999 (UA went 17-7 in 2005).

Arizona, which has submitted a bid to host a regional in Tucson, will find out on Sunday if it will remain home for the opening rounds of play in the postseason when the NCAA announces the 16 regional sites at approximately 12:15 p.m. Tucson time on ESPN and online at ncaasports.com.

The field of 64 teams for the NCAA tournament will be announced on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Tucson time on ESPN and online at ncaasports.com.
