TUCSON -After round one of play at the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview, the University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team sits at tied for sixth in the team standings. Held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., competition will take place Fri.-Sun., Sept. 23-25. Tee time is set for 8 a.m. CT on Saturday and 7:30 a.m. CT on Sunday. Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course is a par-72, 6,451-yard setup.

Arizona shot a 298 (+10) in round one on Friday to finish in a two-way tie for sixth place with North Carolina. USC leads the team race with a 292 (+4), Arizona State is in second place with a 293 (+5) and UCLA, Alabama and Vanderbilt round out the top three in a three-way tie (296, +8). Arizona State's Justine Lee leads the individual race with a 71 (-1).

Senior Margarita Ramos was Arizona's top finisher in a seven-way tie for second. She shot an even-par 72 and closed with a birdie on the 17th hole. Senior Nikki Koller sits in a 10-way tie for 17th place. She shot a 74 (+2). Senior Isabelle Boineau is in a 15-way tie for 27th place after carding a 75 (+3).

"I'm so proud of the way our seniors played today," head coach Laura Ianello said. "They carried us today with their experience. Margarita (Ramos) hit the ball very well and easily could have shot a 66 or 67. Tomorrow, Andrea (Vilarasau) and Haley (Andreas) look to improve and help the team more. As a freshman, Andrea is happy to be here and is playing hard."

"Isabelle (Boineau) is looking to get a few shots back and move into the top 10. Nikki Koller finished strong with a couple of birdies. We played in the rain this morning and luckily the weather improved as the day went on."

Freshman Andrea Vilarasau sits in a 10-way tie for 50th place. In her collegiate debut, she shot a 77 (+5). Sophomore Haley Andreas rounded out the Arizona five with a score of 80 (+8). She sits in a six-way tie for 75th place.
