Newcomers Walshe and Jacobs among first round top-10 

 

FRANKLIN, Tenn., - The Arizona women’s golf team shot a four-over-par 292 Friday and stand in fifth place after the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship.

 

Two Wildcats, junior transfers Alison Walshe and Mary Jacobs, finished the first round in a tie for ninth place with under-par totals of 71 (-1).

 

Sophomore Adriana Zwanck is tied for 20th place after shooting a one-over-par 73.

 

Sophomore Amanda Wilson shot a five-over-par 77 and is tied for 55th place.  Senior Rachel Gavin is in 77th place after shooting an 82 (+10).

 

Georgia leads the competition with 280 (-8) total, followed by Duke, who carded a five-under-par 283.

 

The tournament continues tomorrow, with a second round tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CDT.
