????????????TUCSON, Ariz. ?C?Arizona?dropped its fifth straight contest, falling to UCLA?4-3 in 10 innings at Kindall Field on Friday. UAˇ?s second consecutive one-run loss dropped the Cats to 13-8 overall and 1-3 in the Pac-10. The Bruins snapped a four-game losing streak with the victory and improved to 11-9 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

?

????????????UCLAˇ?s Jermaine Curtis continued to terrorize the Wildcats, finishing Fridayˇ?s contest 4-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored, including the go-ahead run in the 10th. The Bruins third baseman is now 13-for-27 (.481) with seven runs scored, two triples, a homer and 10 RBI in seven career games against Arizona?

?

????????????Curtisˇ? one-out triple in the 10th?off of UA closer Jason Stoffel and Alden Carrithersˇ? sac-fly to left to score him in the next at-bat extended UAˇ?s miseries another game. The late run handed Stoffel (1-1) his first career loss at UA and made a winner out of Bruinsˇ? reliever Matt Drummond (1-2).

?

????????????The Bruins took advantage of UAˇ?s 40th?error of the season to jump out to a 2-0 lead in the second. Cody Decker reached on a throwing miscue by Dillon Baird to lead off the inning. A Brandon Crawford double off of UA ace Preston Guilmet plated Decker to give UCLA a 1-0 edge.

?

????????????A sacrifice bunt and a single by Brady Dolan pushed to lead to two before Guilmet finally got out of the frame.

?

????????????Arizona?cut the advantage in half in the fourth on Colt Sedbrookˇ?s second inside-the-park home run of the season. The sinking liner fell just below UCLA right fielder Gabe Cohenˇ?s glove and squirted to the wall allowing the UA senior to race around the bases.

?

????????????The Wildcats tied the game at?2-2 in the seventh when Dwight Childs reached on a walk, advanced to second on a sac bunt by Robert Abel and scored on a single by Jon Gaston. One batter later C.J Zielger connected on a 1-1 pitch from Bruin reliever Jason Novack for his first home run since March 9 to stake the Cats to a 3-2 edge.

?

????????????The lead didnˇ?t last long as Curtis singled to left in the eighth, advanced to second on a sca bunt and scored on a Carrithers triple to right to make it 3-3.

?

????????????Trailing 2-1, the Cats squandered a prime scoring opportunity in the fifth when Abel led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on an error by Crawford on the ensuing relay. The Wildcats sophomore?was left 90 feet short of tying the game however, as Gaston,?Ziegler and pinch hitter Mike Weldon all failed to advance their teammate home.

?

????????????Arizona and UCLA will meet up for game two of the three-game series on Saturday at 6 p.m. Left-hander David Coulon is the scheduled starter for the Wildcats.
