TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona baseball team's series win over Texas A&M last weekend earned the Wildcats their first top 25 ranking of the season. Collegiate Baseball placed the 11-5 Wildcats at No. 21 in its top 30 poll of the week.

The top 30 national ranking is the first for Arizona in over a year and is the first top 25 ranking for the Wildcats since Feb. 28, 2000, when UA was No. 25 in Baseball America's top 25. The Wildcats were ranked 26th last season after an 11-2 start. However the ranking was short lived after a three-game sweep at Texas A&M dropped the Wildcats out of the poll.

Arizona's upcoming opponent Texas enters the week of play ranked in all three major collegiate baseball polls. Both Baseball America and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll has the defending national champion Longhorns ranked No. 9, while Collegiate Baseball places UT at No. 11.

Arizona placed just outside the top 25 in this week's ESPN poll, garnering 66 votes to tie with Pac-10 rival California at No. 27.

The Wildcats will head to Austin, Texas on Thursday for a three-game series against UT Friday-Sunday.
