Women's Golf in Third Place Heading into Final Round of Pac-10 Championships

SEATTLE, Wash. ?- The No. 15 Arizona women’s golf team completed the second round of the Pac-10 Conference Championships on Tuesday, moving into third place.  The Wildcats carded a 304 (+16) in the second round to bring their total score to 613 (+37).  Arizona State held on to their lead after shooting a twelve-over par 300 to put the Sun Devils seven strokes ahead of UCLA.


Arizona State’s Anna Nordqvist also maintained her individual lead after two rounds, with a total score of 140 (-4) through 36 holes of play.  Nordqvist is four strokes ahead of Stanford’s Mari Chun and UCLA’s Tiffany Joh.


For the Wildcats, junior Alison Walshe moved into a tie for fifth after carding a two-over par 74 on Tuesday, giving the Westford, Mass., native a score of 149 (+5) after two rounds.  Walshe is only five strokes away from the lead heading into the final round.


Sophomore Adriana Zwanck is three stokes behind Walshe following a three-over par 75 performance on Tuesday.  The Madrid, Spain product is currently tied for 12th place.


Sophomore Amanda Wilson finished the second round of play in a tie for 17th place after carding a 76 (+4) on Tuesday.  Wilson is two strokes behind fellow sophomore Zwanck with a score of 154 (+10).


Junior Mary Jacobs remained in a tie for 23rd place after carding identical scores of 79 (+7) through two rounds.  Jacobs has a two round total score of 158 (+14) heading into tomorrow’s final round.


Freshman Emily Mason is currently tied for 43rd place after also carding identical scores in each round of play.  The Highland, Calif., native shot an 84 (+12) in the first and second rounds to bring her total score to 168 (+24).


The tournament continues tomorrow, with a final round tee time of 8:15 a.m. PST.
