Women's Tennis Player Leads after One Set at NCAA Championships

STANFORD, Calif. - University of Arizona women's tennis player, Maja Mlakar, was leading Mississipi's Mira Radu before play was suspended due to rain. Mlakar won the first set, 6-1, and was leading in the second set, 2-1. Play will resume Tuesday, May 21 at 9 a.m. PDT.

UA sophomore Debbie Larocque will face Gabriela Lastra of Stanford at 3 p.m. PT on Tuesday. Larocque entered the NCAA Championships as an alternate in the singles' tournament but has now earned a spot in the tournament field. Larocque will team up with Mlakar in the doubles' tournament, which is now scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 22.

The first two rounds of the singles' tournament are scheduled to be completed by Tuesday afternoon.
