Women's Golf Tied for Fourth at Stanford Fall Intercollegiate

PALO ALTO, Calif. ?C The No. 8 Arizona womenˇ?s golf team is tied for fourth place after one round of play at the Stanford Fall Intercollegiate, hosted by Stanford University.? The Wildcats carded a twelve-over 296 to stand in a three way tie with California and Georgia.? Duke leads the tournament after shooting a 282 (-2) to lead UCLA by nine strokes.

Dukeˇ?s Amanda Blumenherst leads the field individually with a five-under 66 after 18 holes of play.

The tournament is held at the Stanford Golf Course, which stretches 6,092 and is a par-71.

For the Wildcats, freshman Alejandra Llaneza is tied for eleventh after carding a 72 (+1).? The Mexico City, Mexico, product gathered three birdies in the first round to lead the Arizona squad.

Junior Adriana Zwanck is tied for 15th place with a two-over 73.? One stroke behind is senior Alison Walshe, who is currently tied for 21st place.

Senior Mary Jacobs is tied for 46th place after shooting a six-over 77 in the first round.? Sophomore Brittany Benvenuto is in 92nd place with an 86 (+15).

The tournament continues tomorrow with a second round tee time scheduled for 8:30 am.
