PALO ALTO, Calif. ?- The No. 6 Arizona volleyball team won a thrilling five-game match (30-26, 17-30, 30-22, 26-30, 18-16) over No. 4 Stanford at Maples Pavilion tonight to complete the season sweep of the Cardinal. It’s the first time since the 2000 season that the Wildcats have won both regular-season meetings with Stanford. With the win, Arizona improves to 18-5 overall and 10-4 in Pac-10 play.

In the fifth and final game, Stanford had match point three times before Arizona scored the final three points for the 18-16 win.

“This was obviously a terrific win,” Head Coach David Rubio said. “I'm really proud of how our players played at the end of game five. Stanford was serving for match points and we were able to play well enough to secure the win. It's nice to win a match 18-16 versus losing that way.”

Arizona hit .253 on the match, compared to the .220 of Stanford. The Wildcats also notched 17 more kills (79-62) and 14 more digs (56-42) than the Cardinal, and out-blocked them 14.5-10.

Senior Kim Glass tallied a career-high 33 kills in the victory. The Pennsylvania native now has 1,952 career kills, moving her ahead of two-time national player of the year Logan Tom into fourth place all-time in Pac-10 history.

Senior Jennifer Abernathy finished with 22 kills and 12 digs for her 11th double-double of the season.

Sophomore setter Amy Dyck dished out 64 assists to go with six digs and five kills on the night. Senior Bre Ladd led the team with four blocks, while freshman libero Brittany Leonard tallied a match-high 18 digs.
