LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
Despite double-digit kills from two Wildcats, the Arizona volleyball team (18-11, 10-10) fell to No. 1 USC (24-4,19-2) in Los Angeles, 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-21).
Freshman Madi Kingdon (Phoenix, Ariz.) and senior Courtney Karst (Centennial, Colo.) posted 10 kills each. For Karst, it marked her 12th game out of the last 13 matches to record kills in the double-digits.
Senior Cursty Jackson (Los Angeles, Calif.) also added seven kills to only one error for the Wildcats, while Kingdon led the team in digs with five.
“Nothing about tonight resembled what we were about last night,” Arizona head coach David Rubio said. “SC was really good and really physical, but mentally, we just weren’t very aggressive.”
USC’s Alex Jupiter led all players in kills with 18 and posted a .607 hitting percentage while Lauren Wopat added 10 kills for the Trojans, hitting .833.
Arizona will return to McKale Center for its last home match of the season to take on Arizona State. For Jackson, Karst and Hanzlova, it will be the last home match of their careers.
