Arizona women’s basketball will face Utah on Thursday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m. PT in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament at KeyArena in Seattle, Wash.
In addition to moving to Seattle, every game of the tournament will be nationally televised for the first time ever. The first 10 games will be broadcast on the Conference’s Pac-12 Networks with the title matchup being televised on ESPN2. Authenticated subscribers can also watch every game on the internet (pac-12.com for the first 10 games and espn3.com for the final game) and with the Pac-12 Now app.
The Wildcats will face the Utes for the third time this season.
On January 18, UA defeated Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, 62-58. In the game, senior Carissa Crutchfield (Ft. Gibson, Okla.) added 11 points. As a team, Arizona shot 49 percent and made 8-of-8 free throws.
On February 17, the Wildcats and Utes met again at McKale Center, UA taking that game, 61-52. Whyte had 21 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists to lead Arizona, while Crutchfield had nine points and six assists and junior Alli Gloyd (Phoenix, Ariz.) contributed eight points and nine rebounds. As a team, the Wildcats forced 19 turnovers, turning them into 28 points and outscored Utah on the fast break, 8-to-2. Arizona only committed 11 turnovers and shot 16 free throws to the Utes’ eight.
The winner will take on No. 16 UCLA on Friday, March 8 at 2:30 p.m. PT.
