Sophomore (2004-05):  An honorable mention All-America pick by the GCAA ... Selected to represent the United States at the 2005 Fuji Xerox USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championships, July 13-15, in Palo Alto, Calif. ... A first team all-Pac-10 pick for the second straight season ... No Arizona has as many rounds played over the past two seasons that Liaw’s 79 ... Led or tied for the team lead in top-10 finishes (five), rounds at par or better (18) and rounds in the 60’s (11) ... His stroke average is the same as his All-American effort (71.90) last year ... Was the Wildcats’ top finisher in six of 13 stroke play events in 2004-05 ... Thirty-five of his 39 rounds played (87.7 percent) have counted towards the team total ... Freshman (2003-04):  Expected to be one of the top freshmen in college golf and certainly lived up to the expectations, earning PING/GCAA honorable mention All-America and all-Freshman honors ... Also garnered Pac-10 Freshman-of-the-Year accolades ... Qualified for match play at the 2004 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, losing 5&4 to Anthony Kim of Norman, Okla., in the first round after carding a 73-75=148 (+4) in the stroke play portion ... Ranked second on the team with a 71.90 stroke average ... That mark drops to 70.76 in spring competition ... His spring stroke average is 4.15 strokes lower than the 74.91 average last fall ... Liaw’s freshman stroke average trails only Ricky Barnes’ 71.04 tally in 1999-2000 and Chris Nallen’s 71.81 mark in 2000-01 as the third-lowest freshman scoring average in school history ... Second on the team with 25 rounds at par or better (22 of his 29 rounds this spring have been at par or better) ... Tied for 44th place at the NCAA Championships with a 78-70-72-74=294 (+14) total ... Named to GCAA national all-Freshman team on May 27 .... Also named to the GCAA all-Pacific region on May 27 ... Collected eight consecutive top-20 finishes prior to the NCAA Championships ... One of two freshmen (Esler) to see action in all 14 varsity events ... Named Golf World magazine national player-of-the-week on May 7 for his efforts at the Pac-10 Championships ... Became the eighth player in school history to capture individual medalist honors at the conference championship (just the second freshman) on April 28 as he fired a 69-70-72-68=279 (-9) to win by four strokes ... His final-round 68 (-4) at the Pac-10 Championships was the low round of the day and the driving force behind Arizona’s 14-stroke turnaround en route to the team title as well ... Shot a 70-71-71=212 (-4) to tie for 20th place on April 10 at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational ... Carded a 69-71-71=211 (-5) to tie for third place (equaling his best collegiate finish) at the National Invitational Tournament ... Carded a 71-71-69=211 (-5) to tie for 12th place March 21 at the Hall of Fame Invitational ... The only Wildcat to finish under par at the Southern Highlands Collegiate after shooting 65-76-74=215 (-1) and tieing for 18th place ... Collected his best collegiate finish to date (T3rd) at the John Burns Intercollegiate Feb. 20 with a 69-64-70=208 (-8) total ... Opened the spring with a 66-70-74=210 (-3) to tie for 12th place on Feb. 3 ... Went 1-2-0 Nov. 7-9 at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship ... Posted his best collegiate finish with a 70-70-78=218 (+5) to tie for 38th place at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate ... Finished 76th at the Windon Memorial Classic with a 17-over 233 ...
