Wildcats Named to All-Academic Men?s Swimming and Diving Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ?-Several Wildcat swimmers were named to the 2006 Pac-10 Men’s Swimming and Diving All-Academic team announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen.


            Senior Simon Burnett was named to the All-Academic first team with a grade point average of 3.21. This marks the sixth individual award for Burnett as he was named the 2006 Pac-10 Men’s Swimmer of the Year, was named to the Academic All-District VIII At-Large Team and was recently honored as a 2005-06 Pac-10 Conference Medal winner. He was one of the outstanding seniors at annual CATS Senior Awards ceremonies in May, winning both the Sapphire and Ruby Awards.


            Senior diver John Collier made the All-Academic second tem along with junior Adam Ritter. Collier finished his tenure at Arizona with a 3.11 GPA and a major in marketing and Ritter accumulated a 3.14 GPA, majoring in engineering. Ritter was part of three national champion relays and contributed to five school record breaking performances in 2006


            Junior Denton Taylor also earned honorable mention recognition.
