LOS ANGELES, Calif.--The Arizona women's tennis team finished off the 2009 Matador Intercollegiate Invitational with a series of losses.

For singles, sophomore Natasha Marks lost to UC Santa Barbara's Sofia Novak 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 in the finals match.

Junior Jane Huh lost to Nevada's Emma Verberne 6-3, 6-3, and, in doubles play, Marks and Huh lost to Cal State Northridge's Doane and Yang 8-4.

Sophomore Debora Castany lost to Boise State's Rocio Frej 6-4, 6-4.

"Our final day was not what we hoped for," said assistant coach Ryan Stotland, "but I think we can take a lot from it and develop our games even further and know what we need to do in practice to be the best we can be for the spring. We know that we have things to work on and this tournament definitely showed the girls what we need to polish before we go into our team season."

The Wildcats' spring schedule begins January 22, 2010 against UC Davis. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1:30 at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
