TUCSON -The University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team earned a 15th-place finish at the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview on Sunday. Held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., the course is a par-72, 6,451-yard setup.
Arizona shot 298, 308 and 409 over the three rounds for a total of 915 (+51). UCLA won the team title with a score of 873 (+9), Alabama earned a runner-up finish with a carding of 879 (+15). Arizona State and Virginia rounded out the top three in a tie, both teams shooting 884 (+20). Lindy Duncan of Duke and Jennifer Kirby of Alabama shared the individual title with three-round totals of 212 (-4).
Senior Margarita Ramos was the top finisher for the Cats in a six-way tie for 33rd place. She carded rounds of 72, 74 and 79 for a total of 225 (+9). Senior Isabelle Boineau finished in a six-way tie for 43rd place. She collected rounds of 75, 77 and 75 for a score of 227 (+11). Senior Nikki Koller finished in a five-way tie for 57th. Her rounds of 74, 78 and 78 totaled 230 (+14).
Freshman Andrea Vilarasau, finishing her first collegiate tournament, finished in a five-way tied for 68th. She carded rounds of 77, 79 and 77 for a total of 233 (+17). Sophomore Haley Andreas rounded out the Arizona five in 83rd place. She shot rounds of 80, 81 and 79 for a total of 240 (+24).
Arizona will play next at the Windy City Intercollegiate on Oct. 3-4.
