TUCSON - Oklahoma State took third place in the Worth Wildcat Invitational softball tournament with a 6-3 victory over Boston University Sunday morning at HIllenbrand Stadium. OSU was 3-2 in tourney play and improved to 13-6 overall. The Terriers finished 1-4 and leave Tucson 5-10 overall.

Shanel Scott walked to lead off the OSU first and later scored on a Megan Carey single to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead. BU came back in the top of the second, DeKenya Williams walked, moved to third on a double by Erin McDonald, and scored on a wild pitch by Kristen Neil. After Neil threw the next pitch well wide of the plate, OSU brought in Jessic Hoppock.

Hoppock walked Heather Cassidy and struck out Jamie Haas, but gave up a two-run single to Abby Pauley and the Terriers led, 3-1. OSU cut it to 3-2 in the second. Alliya Anderson doubled and Courtney Totte drove her in with a single to center.

Carey singled, Crystal Lee walked and Jade Lindly singled to load the bases for OSU in the third, but BU pitcher Ashlee Freeman struck out Calli Behmer, got Anderson to line back to the circle and a groundout to stop the rally.

Carey socked a three-run home run to left to put OSU on top in the fourth and then in the fifth Scott added an RBI single to make it 6-3.
