Cats Sweep No. 18 San Diego in Wildcat Classic Finale

TUCSON, Ariz.-No. 15 Arizona, used its height advantage to out-block 18th-ranked San Diego, 14-5, leading the Cats to a 15-11, 15-9, 15-12 sweep of the previously unbeaten Toreros in the final match of the Embassy Suites Wildcat Classic Saturday night.

Arizona went 3-1 in the tournament improving to 4-1 on the year. San Diego is 2-1 on the season.

Junior middle blocker Marisa DaLee hit .391 with 13 kills and a match-best 18 digs. Senior outside hitter Raelene Elam posted a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs.

USD's senior outside hitter Petia Yanchulova earned tournament most valuable player honors and recorded 13 kills and 13 digs against Arizona.

The Cats return to action Friday night when they open play in the U.S. Bank Tournament in Lincoln, Neb., against San Diego State at 5 p.m. CDT.
