MacManus Finishes Strong at NCAA West Regional

TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona men's golfer Tarquin MacManus carded a two-over-par 74 Saturday at the 2008 NCAA West Regional in Bremerton, Wash.

Playing as an individual, MacManus played the back nine at one under today, including two birdies, en route to his two-over 74. It was his best round of the tournament. The freshman from Cairns, Queensland, Australia, moved into a tie for 79th place in the 141-man field at 13-over 229.

USC topped the 27-team field after 54 holes with a two-under 862 total. Oregon (864), Clemson (867), Washington (874) and UCLA (876) rounded out the top-five places. Oregon's Joey Benedetti claimed individual medalist honors after carding a nine-under 207 tally.

The 2008 NCAA West Regional was contested at Gold Mountain Golf Club's Olympic Course, a par 72, 7,111-yard layout.
