Homecoming Weekend festivities have necessitated some changes to Arizona Football Tailgating procedures for the Oct. 23 football game against Washington.
Fans with tailgating permits should review the policies on the reverse side of the passes and please note the following time elements for Oct. 23:
12:30-2:30 p.m. - Tailgaters with valid permits for the UW game may begin parking/load in on tailgating grounds. Tailgate parking/loading is eastbound on University, entering off Cherry Avenue. Drop-offs for tailgates will be allowed.
2:15 p.m. – Alcohol consumption may not begin until 2:15pm and all areas must be cleared one hour after the game concludes.
2:45-4:45 p.m. – Cherry Avenue will be closed to all traffic in preparation for the Homecoming Parade. (This hard closure includes vehicles with tailgate passes. No exceptions during this time). Tailgate pass holders will be staged eastbound on Second Street (from Cherry: head west on First Street, south on Mountain Avenue and east on Second)
3-4:30 p.m. – Homecoming Parade begins at First Street and Cherry Avenue. The parade heads south on Cherry to University Boulevard, west around Old Main, and then east on University to exit on Campbell Avenue. Please plan accordingly to view the parade.
5:15-5:45 p.m. – Cherry Avenue Closed due to Wildcat Walk. Tailgate pass holders will be staged on eastbound Second St. (as above).
5:30-5:45 p.m. – Wildcat Walk, football team arrival at Cherry and University.
5:45- 7:15 p.m. -- Tailgaters with valid permits may enter the tailgating grounds. Tailgate pass holders will be staged on eastbound Second Street.
7:15 p.m. – Washington-Arizona kickoff, ESPN
