TUCSON, Ariz. -

Wildcats Travel to Oregon
Arizona (8-1,0-0) is back on the road this weekend to face No. 16 Oregon (7-1,0-0) and Oregon State (8-2,0-0). The Wildcats will play the Ducks on Friday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. and the Beavers on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.
Freshman Madi Kingdon leads the team in kills with 114, kills per set with 3.68 and total attempts with 329. Senior Cursty Jackson leads the team in blocks with 38 (8 solo) and senior Marketa Han­zlova leads the team in digs with 104.As a team, Arizona is averaging a .244 hitting percentage and holding its opponents to .168.

In 2010: Arizona won both matches. Defeated No. 13 Oregon in Eugene on Oct. 9: 3-2 (25-22, 26-28, 21-25, 25-19, 15-11). Defeated No. 20 Oregon in Tucson on Nov. 5: 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 27-25).

Scouting the Ducks

The Ducks are 7-1 overall, including a win over defending national champion Penn State on its home court. Oregon’s only loss came versus Minnesota and is coming off of wins over Portland State and Cal Poly. As a team, the Ducks are hitting .262, led by .Liz Brenner’s .344 hitting percentage. Lauren Plum is the starting setter, recording 312 assists and Haley Jacobs leads in digs with 105. Oregon is led by seventh-year head coach Jim Moore.

Scouting Oregon State

The Beavers are 8-2 overall, with their most recent wins coming versus Utah State and Long Beach State. OSU’s two losses came in the first four matches of the season to South Dakota and Gonzaga. As a team, the Beavers are hitting .227 and holding opponents to a .166 hitting percentage. Arica Nassar leads Oregon State with a .333 hitting percentage, Tayla Woods is leading in assists with 254 and Becky Defoe leads in digs with 171.The Beavers are led by seventh-year head coach Taras Liskevych.
