TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf junior varsity team is in a tie for 15th place Saturday after the first two rounds of the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif.
The Wildcat JV posted single-round totals of 311 and 316 en route to a 36-hole total of 627 (+51). UA is tied for 15th in the 19-team field. Colorado State leads the field by three strokes heading into tomorrow's final round after carding a 14-over 590 total.
Philip Bagdade led the Wildcats on day one after registering two 75s to stand in a tie for 20th place at six-over 150. He was the only Wildcat in the top half of the field. Washington State's Kevin Tucker has the individual lead at three-under 141.
Also competing for the UA JV was Peter Croonquist, who is tied for 63rd place at 158 (+14), Andrew Kelly, who is tied for 68th place at 159 (+15), Beck Miller, who is tied for 80th place at 160 (+16), and Kenji Hernandez, who is tied for 91st place at 164 (+20).
The University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate concludes tomorrow at the Classic Club, a par-72, 7,305-yard layout.
