What is your full name?
Deanna Marie Graham
Do you have any nicknames? If so, what are they, and how did you get them?
Most everyone calls me Dee but Mykii and Bill call me Bull dog. I don’t really know how I got that one, I think it’s because of the way I do gymnastics. John calls me Simba because my hair is rather crazy – sometimes it looks like a lion mane
How long have you done gymnastics?
I’ve been doing it since I was about 5 I think, I quit for a little when I was 13 but I realized that wasn’t my best idea. All together it’s been about 15 years!
What is your favorite thing about the sport?
The feeling of accomplishment and that rush of adrenaline you get when you finally hit that skill you have been working on so hard.
What is your favorite event, and why?
I think my favorite events are vault and floor, but, much to Bills happiness, bars is right up there too now. I don’t have a medium switch, I’m either 100% on or 100% off so I love the events that I can just go as hard and I can and not hold anything back.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of the gym, and why?
I love to shop; I have what many people would describe as an unhealthy addiction to shoes. I have a lot, but somehow I can always find a pair that I think I need. Other than that I love to just relax by the pool or on my couch doing nothing. There aren’t very many times that we don’t have anything to do, so I always try and take full advantage of the time I do find for myself.
What is your current favorite movie?
“Zoolander” or “The Holiday.” I love silly movies and romance.
Name the last five songs you played on your iPod:
“Im yours” by Jason Maraz, “She Is” by the fray, “Be ok” by Ingrid Michaelson, “Rhythm of Love” by the Plain White T’s, and “Someday” by Joe Brooks.
What is your favorite board game and why?
I don’t really know the last time I played a board game but I love charades. We play that as a team when we are bored waiting in airports and it is always a good time with lots of laughing.
If you were stuck on a desert island, what five items would you want with you?
Beach stuff, A beach towel, bathing suit, sunscreen and sun glasses, my cell phone (I get serves everywhere), my brother (because he can hunt and build a shelter, make a fire, and do all that kind of stuff), snorkel gear (I bet it’s so cool around the island), and blankets (I hate being cold.)
What is your dream job?
I would love to work with the marketing department for an MLB team
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I really love Tucson (people think I’m crazy when I say that but this is my home and I think it’s so beautiful) I would also love to spend a little bit Africa or in a jungle somewhere.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I’m planning on taking full advantage of my 5th year, and then I plan to look at grad schools for sports management.
